Graduate Publishing
Trainee
The History Press is proud to announce an extraordinary training
program for career-minded individuals who are passionate about working
in publishing. We are seeking new college graduates and entry-level
job seekers willing to give their all to an exciting and challenging
10-month publishing trainee program that begins in January 2009.
Positions are full-time, paid placements within our Charleston,
SC, and Salem, MA offices. Motivated candidates may also have the
opportunity to participate in the development of a new Chicago,
IL, office set to open in summer 2009.
This is an exciting opportunity
to join a dynamic and growing publishing company. As a graduate
trainee, you will complete a tailored program that includes editorial,
book acquisitions, sales and marketing functions and provides a
wealth of experience in the world of book publishing. The program
allows trainees to explore and learn about the different facets
of publishing before committing to a particular area. At the end
of 10 months, trainees are encouraged to apply for open positions
within their area of interest. In addition to learning on the job,
trainees benefit from periodic lunchtime seminars that provide an
overview of different aspects of the book publishing business. These
seminars offer opportunities to learn from and exchange ideas with
different departments.
